Sarah Rodgers Named Forsyth Tech Volleyball Assistant Coach
Forsyth Technical Community College has announced the addition of Sarah Rodgers to its volleyball program as an assistant coach. Rodgers brings collegiate coaching and playing experience to the program and is the first addition to Head Coach Sarah Weavil's staff.
"I am thrilled to be part of the coaching staff for the inaugural season at Forsyth Tech," said Rodgers. "Volleyball is and was a huge part of my life when I was graduating from high school and going to college. I am really looking forward to helping these athletes continue developing in their athletic careers!"
Head Coach Sarah Weavil expressed her enthusiasm for the new addition. "I have been able to work with Sarah and coach alongside her this past travel ball season," said Coach Weavil. "I was immediately impressed with her knowledge of the sport and how she adapts her coaching to the level of play and to the athlete. I am excited to see Sarah in action with our inaugural year here at Forsyth Tech."
Rodgers began her coaching career while in high school, assisting with clinics, and has continued to grow as a young coach in the club volleyball scene, coaching teams in Vermont, Connecticut, and North Carolina.
Coach Rodgers currently serves as the outdoor learning spaces coordinator in the Office of Sustainability at Wake Forest University. In her role at Wake Forest, Rodgers manages a garden as well as other outdoor spaces to provide engaged learning opportunities around climate solutions to students on campus.
Rodgers is a Connecticut native and played collegiately at Saint Michael's College in Colchester, Vermont. During her time as a setter at Saint Michael's, Rodgers served as team captain for the program.
