Sophia Blackledge, Volleyball
Sophia Blackledge signed her letter of intent to play for Forsyth Tech on Monday, November 25th. Sophia is a 5'10" middle blocker from West Rowan High School.
"When I first watched Sophia play, I knew she would be a perfect fit here at Forsyth Tech with the culture we are trying to build," said head coach Sarah Weavil. "She's a kid that has a strong passion for the game and doesn't mind playing whatever position she needs to."

What is your dream job?
My dream job is to be a Marine Biologist, specifically, working with sharks.
If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
Hawaii
What is one thing people don't know about you?
One thing people don't know about me is that I am very passionate about the ocean.
What are you good at besides playing volleyball?
Baking and crafting
When did you start playing volleyball, and why?
I started playing volleyball in the sixth grade because my older sister played and I wanted to be just like her.
What position do you play?
For school I played anywhere I was told to go, but for club I play mostly as a middle blocker. I love it because I get to work hard getting to all the blocks and it's rewarding when all that hard work pays off and I get to help my team on defense!
What is your favorite volleyball memory?
My favorite volleyball memory was getting to play school volleyball with my older sister for two years in high school.
What is your favorite food?
Mexican
Why did you choose Forsyth Tech?
I chose Forsyth Tech because I'm excited to be apart of a new program with a really cool coaching staff while also being able to study some of my passions.
