Jayden McCrae, Men's Basketball
Jayden McCrae signed his letter of intent to play for Forsyth Tech on Wednesday, March 12. McCrae is a 6'4 forward from Ronald Reagan High School in Winston-Salem, NC. During his senior campaign, McCrae averaged 17.1 PPG and 7.7 RPG while being voted as a Central Piedmont 4A All-Conference selection. McCrae was coached by Monty Gray and helped lead the Raiders to a 4A NCHSAA playoff appearance and first round win during his senior season.
"Jayden possesses a high motor and the ability to rebound the basketball," said head coach Lucas Hunter. "It is exciting to sign a player of Jayden's caliber from right here in Winston-Salem; I am thrilled that he will be in a Trailblazer uniform next year. From 15' and in, Jayden is a real scoring threat and has a knack for finishing through traffic around the basket."

Who has made a big impact on your basketball journey?
My dad has made a huge impact on my basketball journey. He is the one who introduced me to the game and I have been in love with it ever since then.
What are you looking forward to about playing at Forsyth Tech?
I am excited to play at a higher level and continue to grow and be developed by the coaching staff at Forysth Tech.

The Golden State Warriors

What is your dream job?
My dream job is to play in the NBA.
What is something you are really good at besides basketball?
I am really good at art, I love to draw. I am also a good football player, I have played both football and basketball since I was little.
When did you start playing basketball, and why?
I started playing basketball when I was five years old and then competitively at age seven. My dad introduced me to the game and I fell in love with it.
What is your favorite basketball memory?
My favorite memory is from my sophomore season at North Davidson. We were in a tie game against Oak with eight seconds left and my point guard, Drew Hege, drove and kicked me the ball for the game winning layup as time expired. I finished that game with 32 points, 18 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals. I can never forget that legendary game.
Why did you choose Forsyth Tech?
I chose Forsyth Tech because it is a nice place and close to home. Coach Hunter showed me everything that I needed to see and I believe he can help me progress to the next level.
