Emory Blackwell, Men's Basketball
Emory Blackwell signed his letter of intent to play for Forsyth Tech on Thursday, December 12th. Emory is a 6'8 forward from Winston-Salem, NC who most recently competed at Lake Raleigh Prep. While at Lake Raleigh, Emory led the team in both rebounds (219) and blocks (33) through 48 games. Emory will pursue an Associate of Arts degree from Forsyth Tech.
"We are excited to have Emory officially become a Trailblazer," said head coach Lucas Hunter. "Emory has a very high ceiling and will add immediate length and athleticism to our front line. Emory comes from a great family and has basketball in his DNA. Throughout my time recruiting Emory, I have been impressed his passion for the game and work ethic to improve; his best basketball is still ahead of him."

Coach McGriff coached me in AAU and has had the biggest impact on teaching me about the entire game of basketball.
What are you looking forward to about playing at Forsyth Tech?
I am looking forward to helping build this program from the ground up and having a great first season.

When did you start playing basketball, and why?
I started playing basketball when I was 16 because I wanted to achieve something at a high level.
What is your favorite basketball memory?
My favorite basketball memory is hitting a game winner against Word of God at our home game.
Why did you choose Forsyth Tech?
I chose Forsyth Tech because I think Coach Hunter is a great coach who believes in me and it is a good academic opportunity as well.
