Dantae Watson, Men's Basketball
Dantae Watson signed his letter of intent to play for Forsyth Tech on Tuesday, May 13. Watson is a 6'2 guard from Winston Salem, NC. Watson graduated from Winston Salem Christian School in 2023 and redshirted during the 2023-2024 season at North Carolina A&T in Greensboro before transferring to Iowa Western Community College for the 2024-2025 season. Watson played for Forsyth Tech assistant coach Travis Holcomb-Faye at WSCS.
"It's exciting to sign Dantae and welcome a transfer like him back home to Winston Salem," said head coach Lucas Hunter. "Dantae has been a part of two college basketball programs that we have a ton of respect for, and that experience will help serve our team well next year. Coach Holcomb-Faye did a tremendous job recruiting Dantae, and we are thankful to add him to our roster."

Who has made a big impact on your basketball journey?
My mom and my family have made a big impact on my basketball journey. They have kept me on track and always been there for me.
What are you looking forward to about playing at Forsyth Tech?
I am looking forward to competing, growing as a player, and being a part of a strong team. Forsyth Tech is a great place to develop my skills and stay focused on my goals.
Who is your favorite basketball team?
The Los Angeles Lakers.

Kevin Durant
Who do you model your game after?
Jrue Holiday
What is your dream job?
Plan A, of course, is to play professional basketball, but if that doesn't work, then plan B is to go into real estate.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Dubai
What is one thing people don't know about you?
Not too many people know this, but when I was in middle school, I was in the choir.
What is something you are really good at besides basketball?
I am nice on the game.... NCAA, 2K, whatever.
When did you start playing basketball?
I have been playing basketball and football my entire life. I started taking basketball seriously when I was in eighth grade, and from there, I just stuck with basketball.
What is your favorite basketball memory?
My first in-game dunk.
Why did you choose Forsyth Tech?
I chose Forsyth Tech because it's a program that values development and hard work. The coaches believe in me, and I saw it as a great opportunity to grow on and off the court.
